Desert to Sea Collection.

Desert to Sea is based on my recent travels in North Western Australia. The Kutjungka region (In between the Tanami and Great Sandy Deserts) where most of these works are inspired from.

I want to express my deep respect and acknowledgment of the profound connection to country by traditional owners in the area.

These landscapes evoked an emotional and physical voyage that was uncovered whilst in a surreal otherworldly landscape. Reflecting on my time through the practice of painting informs my imagination and memory that is embedded onto the canvas.

That for me sometimes words are unable to grasp the vast physical and emotional landscape.

The terrain in Western Australia, akin to a time capsule, preserves the memory of when the sea met the desert. Exploring a dried-up coral bed, igniting the imagination with the mysteries of what the land has witnessed over time.
